And, as you can imagine, coordinating all of these efforts is a full-time job. It’s here where the role of a localization project manager becomes clear.

What Does a Localization Project Manager Do?

Localization project managers (PMs) manage every step of the localization process, facilitating handoffs between stakeholders and keeping various requests on track and on budget. Basically, they are responsible for managing projects within the end-to-end.

Project manager have the necessary resources and tools to ensure that there is a single source of truth within the project and that everyone understands their role and performs their tasks on time.

The exact role and daily tasks of a localization project manager may vary from country to country, or business to business. But in general, the project manager is the one who oversees the entire localization process. They are in charge of coordinating freelancers, localization vendors, subject-matter experts and linguists. On the other hand, they communicate internally and externally with stakeholders to ensure effective cross-team collaboration.

While it is true localization is not a single-step process, it helps making your product or content more accessible to a new audience, so it is all worth every dime and effort in the long run. Remember, your localization success is only as successful as your localization partner.
